spilling into the nation s capitol sending a message to gophers across the country as they meet. but first, what would you do if you called 911 and could not get through? there are accusations it happened hundreds of times in d.c. this past week. thanks for joining us. i m maureen umeh. i m will thomas. some 911 operators believe they are beg stretched way too thin because of mandatory furloughs to save the city money. matt acklin has our top story. reporter: tonight we spoke with a 911 call taker who is concerned about the furloughs. she says because of the reduced staffing levels some calls for help are going unanswered. if it s an emergency, help is typically a short 911 call away. but a d.c. 911 operator who takes those calls wants to warn residents, telling fox 5, since call takers and dispatchers have been forced to take furloughs, 911 calls have been missed. they should be concerned, and if they ve experienced the calls where they ve called 911 and hung u ....
