The Shelby County Sheriff s Office reported, in just the last two weeks, there were 35 vehicle thefts and half a dozen guns that were stolen in parts of unincorporated Shelby County. Lt. Dallas Wolfe with SCSO found gun thefts are actually down compared to this period last year. For the time period of Jan 1 – Apr 6, 2020, firearms were reported stolen from vehicles in 34 reports; compared to firearms reported stolen from vehicles in 22 reports for this year, 2021, which as you see is a decrease from last year’s data, Wolfe said. ....
