Maine’s top trotters will go postward just after the famed Kentucky Oaks winning filly dons her blanket of roses on Friday (May 3) at Cumberland. The afternoon card features 11 races, with the $8,219 featured trot slated as race nine with Knight Angel (3-1) listed as the early morning line favourite, and runs in concert with racing from Louisville, Kentucky.
French trotter Elegant Dulupin FR was parked every step of the way and resolutely prevailed over the favorite McStoned Again to take Friday’s (April 19) $8,219 featured trot at Cumberland.
The final day of the First Tracks Cumberland’s Winter Festival extended pari-mutuel meet included an appearance by Santa Claus in the first race, along with a thrilling dead heat in the $10,000 Holly Late Closer Series final on Christmas Eve Sunday, Dec. 24.
Driver Aaron Hall swept all three of the $6,000 divisions of the Jack Frost Trotting Series at First Tracks Cumberland on Sunday, Dec. 17 two of which were from his own stable and one from his dad Craig’s barn.
