Internet failure forces Rockland City Council to reschedule meeting to April 7

ROCKLAND Spectrum, the internet service provider with which the City of Rockland uses, reported two fiber breaks in its network causing a mass two-hour outage April 5, just as Rockland Councilors were about to convene to address a substantial business agenda. Consequently, the meeting has been moved to Wednesday, April 7.
The fiber breaks affected service in Maine and New Hampshire. Spectrum has approximately 440,000 residential and business customers in Maine.
“These separate breaks impacted our redundant path, which normally serves as backup, when a break or damage is incurred in a part of the network,” said Heidi Vandenbrouck, a senior communications manager with Charter, Inc., the parent company of Spectrum. ....

Easterseals Midwest wants to end autism diagnosis racial disparities


The disability service provider has partnered with The Abbott Fund, which is helping support Easterseals Black Child Fund.
When looking at the children it serves, Easterseals saw a disparity in the number of Black children helped when compared to other races, Easterseals Executive Vice President of Services and Chief Program Officer Jeanne Marshall said. 
Abbott provided a $250,000 grant for the program which seeks to end racial disparities in diagnosing autism and other disabilities for Black children. 
The campaign in Missouri will focus in Kansas City and St. Louis to start off with, Marshall said. The Central Missouri office is in Columbia at 918 Bernadette Drive. ....
