KINGSTON – The vote they took wasn’t what they expected it to be, leading to a second unanimous vote that puts the Kingston Elementary and Intermediate schools on target to open for full-time in-school learning Monday, March 22.
The original plan was to survey parents on school choice.
Kingston School Committee members agreed Thursday, Feb. 18, to reconsider their vote of Feb. 8 that included contingencies for reopening March 22 and instead approved a stripped-down version of the original vote so there would be no doubt about their decision.
The conditions were removed. School Committee member Sheila Vaughn proposed a full in-person return with a remote option for kindergarten through sixth grade starting March 22. Commitment letters will go out to families on a per-student basis.
