After the events of the past year, it is perplexing how any thinking person would flout public health regulations. And yet some elected politicians continue to do so. Last week, Maxime Bernier openly stated that he did not want to live in a Canada where his basic human rights were so violated. MP Derek Sloan and MPP Randy Hillier are also advocating against restrictions and have been ticketed for violating them.
Opportunities to criticize those in government abound, but blatant ignorance of public health guidelines is irresponsible and dangerous. If Bernier doesn’t like it, he is welcome to leave Canada and take Sloan and Hillier with him.
