Edward ‘Ed’ J. Kleikamp
POWERS Edward “Ed” J. Kleikamp, 96, Powers, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Green Bay, Wis. He was born on March 5, 1924, in Wilson, Mich., son of the late William and Mary (Marsicek) Kleikamp. On July 16, 1949, he married the former Joan Lyons, who passed in 1975.
Ed proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He sailed from New York to Scotland on the Queen Mary and then served in five countries in Europe as a combat engineer, earning the Victory Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon, five Over Seas Bars, one Service Stripe and a Good Conduct Medal. Ed retired after 37 years from Mead Paper in 1986. He was very proud to be on the first U.P. Honor Flight and also enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and spending time at his camp. ....
