brandon bass tan was traveling at 102 miles an hour at a 50-mile an hour curve. he has not said anything publicly since the crash. following the derailment, members of the congress, called out amtrak for not installing something called positive train control. a gps technology that uses computers, to slow down trains when needed. other parts of the northeast corridor had this technology. the curve in port richmond did not. it has since been installed. the investigation is ongoing. several smaller reports from the national transportation safety board, were released over the last year but the final ntsb report is scheduled to be released next tuesday. jessica and ukee that will come in the form of a formal board meeting at 9:30 in washington d.c. at ntsb headquarters. that is where board releases their final recommendations as far as safety recommendations. they will talk about probable cause, in this case. is there a whole separate criminal side to the case which hasn t really
hartman is live at the scene with the full story, trish? reporter: well, walter demolition crews, have fenced off the property here and reid street is opened once again. it was closed earlier today. for the next few days crews will clear away what is left and sure up the structure next to the collapse. l and i tells us that building is vacant. officials are thankful this happened early in the morning and that more people were not injured. around 7:30 i heard a loud crack. almost the sound as if a tree was up rooting. reporter: then gregory cooper looked out of his grays ferry apartment window to see the house at 1401 south patton street collapse. i ran to the front of the building and asked if there was anybody in there. i heard a voice from the back of the house hollering help. reporter: police say that 39 year-old man who was on the third floor was the only person there, he was taken to the hospital, in stable condition, and treated for back pain. specially traine
