good afternoon, port director for maintenance and today we are here and honoring larry peoples one of the most lovable port employees. if you ever spent time as director moyer said on the embarcadero north of the ferry building in the morning i am sure that you have met larry out there keeping the embarcadero clean. and he took pride in his work and he was dedicate and hard worker, and he but never too busy to stop and to help out a visitor, or to greet all of the folks along the embarcadero that make the way to the work in the morning he was a true ambassador to the port in the city in the way that he dealt with the public but for me larry is a gentleman, and he was always very, very nice to me, and he was a person of wisdom who i drew many insights and we shared many conversations and also beneficial and making my days here at the port productive and to really know what was going on out there in the field, and i really enjoyed listening to his wonderful life stories ....
we have another retirement, and this one is accommodation for larry peoples who you can see walking forward and come on up front and he is a general laborer, and he is joined the city in 1976 as a general laborer out in the san francisco airport and he worked there for about ten years and you can sit right here next to peter. and then he came to the port in october of 1986. so, he got to be here for three blessed years before we had the big earthquake and then he was here ever since. mr. peoples has been at the port for approximately, 28 years, and he is well known up and down the water front because one of his many jobs is to keep it crystal clean, and he can be seen most mornings, mostly before many people arrive at work, coming in and riding the street sweeper to make sure that the sidewalk is clean and pristine and welcoming. and so, he has teased us many times that he is going to retire, but this year he actually did it and i think that he has been back several t ....
firs 80 through 96 area in the southern waterfront that we got how many cops from the southern water front advisory group. that s really the effect difference of maritime and industrial uses, cohabitating in that area with the blue greenway open spaces so from all that we interpreted that the land use priorities for that area were well understood by the community and were supported. okay, so this group will not really focus on? we don t anticipate readvise uting that, unless there is something that comes up. i definitely know transportation in these double rides are common along the waterfront in all areas. hopefully we will look at every street on port property because with all of the development and all the growth and just trying to get around now is such a hazardous waste he will. and i can only imagine what it s going to be in the future. actually the transportation would be the big exception because that does extend definitely south of china basin all the w ....
