One of the leaders of the farright gang the proud boys a guy by the name of Enrique Tarrio, received the longest and harshest sentence to date for attempting to end american democracy and the rule of law. 22 years in federal prison. Tarrio was convicted of Seditious Conspiracy for his role in the insurrection. That sentence, which we got just a few hours ago, is the most severe sentence of the more than 1100 people charged in connection with a january 6th attacks. In court today the proud boys leader says that january six was a, quote, national embarrassment, for the judge was not moved, saying, quote, i dont have any indication hes remorseful for the things hes convicted of.
