Covid-19: Wellington nurse and doctor stuck in Sydney lockdown after son dies suddenly

Paramedics tried to resuscitate Webster before rushing him to Royal North Shore Hospital, where doctors and nurses also tried to save for him for three to four hours. Webster had moved to Sydney with his partner and their daughter four years ago to work as a labourer. He was the sole income earner for his young family. Toumoua, Haymes, Webster, his partner and daughter and another family member who is with them are all New Zealand citizens.

A Wellington couple who have been on the front line of keeping COVID-19 at bay in New Zealand are stuck in lockdown in New South Wales for another 10 days after the woman s son died unexpectedly in Sydney. Jarrin Webster​ (Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Te Ati Haunui-a-Pāpārangi), 26, died after a medical event on July 18 at the home he shared with his partner and their five-year-old daughter. The cause is not yet known. After receiving the news, his mother Antoinette Toumoua​ and her partner Dr Michael Haymes​ immediately flew to Sydney.
