Ebony Odom, a senior at Mitchell High School in Colorado Springs, and Katy Riley, a senior at Poudre High School in Fort Collins, won scholarships through a live drawing Friday at the ninth annual UNC Teacher’s Conference.
The award recognizes promising practice from a school, college or department of education demonstrating outcomes and advocacy related to various activities, practices, programs, systems and/or policies that lead to, or likely lead to, an increase in educator diversity according to a news release from UNC.
In a landmark initiative, the University of Northern Colorado will award two $1,000 scholarships to future teachers who are enrolled at the school in the fall semester.
