Several YMCAs in the Jackson area are opening their shower facilities for area residents impacted by water outages. Metropolitan YMCAs of Mississippi officials said in a news release Wednesday the Clinton, Flowood and Brandon YMCAs will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday for those needing to shower. “The unexpected water outages the City of Jackson is facing have been so difficult to witness,” Jara Miller, president and CEO of the Metropolitan YMCAs, said in the release. “We hope that by offering our showers to the community, it will offer some relief.” Those wishing to stop by to shower are asked to contact the facilities to reserve a shower time, which will help reduce wait times. ....
