Forward spread of the Road Fire, which was started by a vehicle fire that spread to nearby vegetation near Descanso, has been stopped, the Cleveland National Forest said.
The Road Fire was reported by the Cleveland National Forest around noon Saturday as it quickly grew to 20 acres. Around 1 p.m., the Cleveland NF said the fire was holding at 70 acres with 0% contained and a moderate rate of spread.
