Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with Japanese PM Fumio Kishida on the sidelines of the G-7 Summit in Apulia, Italy and discussed the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail project with a targeted 5 trillion yen worth of investment in India.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, PM Modi thanked Japanese PM Kishida for the congratulatory wishes on assuming office for the third consecutive term. They emphasized that bilateral ties with Japan will continue to receive priority. The India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership, now in its 10th year, has seen significant progress, including collaborations in key areas such as the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail project and the India-Japan Industrial Competitiveness Partnership.

Maintaining stability of the Taiwan Straits is in the common interest of both China and Japan, said Liu Jianchao, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, when meeting with Japanese Prime Minister and President of Japan s Liberal Democratic Party Fumio Kishida in Tokyo on Wednesday. The two sides also expressed willingness to enhance political party exchanges.
