480-bed capacity drug rehab center opened in Cavite

(Photo courtesy of JICA Philippines) MANILA - A new five-hectare, 480-bed capacity Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (DATRC) was inaugurated in Barangay Osorio, Trece Martires City, Cavite last June 14 to help drug dependents and provide immediate interventions toward rehabilitation, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said on Friday. "Our journey towards bringing our illegal drug dependent kababayans closer to reintegration and recovery is now closer to reality with this five-hectare DATRC here in Cavite. This is another part of the Duterte Legacy that has truly impacted the lives of our fellow Filipinos," Interior Secretary Eduardo Ano said in a news release. Drug rehab center opens in Cavite under DOH-JICA program

MANILA - The Department of Health-Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) region, in partnership with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the City Government of Trece Martires, has put up a Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (DATRC) in Barangay Osorio. The construction of the DOH-DATRC is a component of a JPY1.85-billion (PHP734 million) undertaking called "Consolidated Rehabilitation of Illegal Drug Users" (CARE), a bilateral project in line with the Japan-Philippines Joint Statement on Bilateral Cooperation to combat illegal drugs, as part of the efforts to uphold public safety.
