Janet was the oldest of 10 children born to Byrd and Goldie Harless of Hillsboro. Even with dementia, she still was able to recollect fond memories of her childhood, giving her light and comfort through her final years of Alzheimer’s. 
Janet had many responsibilities growing up on a large farm, but one she shared often was caring for her siblings: Delbert, Judy (Akers), Ronald, Alta (Kidder), Arthur, Robert, Rita (Lowe), Brenda (Nahrwold) and her late brother, Roger.
 
Janet met her late husband, Carl Carmean, when she was 17 years old. The story of their meeting has been retold so many times over the years that the story gained a life of its own. Theirs was a love story that lasted almost 64 years. They were partners, and together they built a successful machine tool company, C&C Equipment /JCR Tech, located in Blanchester.  ....
