Picture: SUPPLIED A NEW agreement between a tertiary institution and a training institute will support Pacific Island citizens’ skills training needs for labour market demands, particularly for recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. The partnership between the University of the South Pacific and the Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) focuses on key thematic areas, including collaborative approaches for training delivery, professional development opportunities, strengthening partnership governance and identifying regional priorities for better co-ordination. A media statement from APTC said the partnership would enable the two institutions to work collaboratively for quality Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) delivery and better employment outcomes for Pacific people.
