In 1988, nasa scientist james hansen told a congressional hearing that it was 99 certain that burning fossil fuels was heating the earths atmosphere. The next day, a New York Times headline proclaimed a Global Warming has begun. Decades later, dr. Hansen and others are still trying to convince the United States of these basic observations.
