Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah has ramped up its sustainability efforts by cleaning up the ‘Pink Lake’ in Ras Al Khaimah. The hotel dedicated thirty staff to aid in the clean-up of the newly discovered ‘Pink Lake’ on the shoreline of Saraya Island in Ras Al Khaimah.
With the viral phenomenon taking the UAE by storm, many residents and visitors flocked to the destination, and have left behind remnants of plastic and other environmentally harmful materials.
First discovered by a UAE student in January 2021, the ‘Pink Lake’ in Ras Al Khaimah quickly gained attention from residents across the UAE. It radiates a vibrant hue, largely due to the Halobacteria and the algae Dunaliella Salina, which thrives in a salty environment. ....
