the plaque will be mounted at fort toten station. every time they mentioned her name, it brought me to tears. reporter: the operator, jan mcmillan who hit the emergency brake and died trying to stop her train from crashing into the metro train ahead was remembered as a hero. after the ceremony metro transit motorcycle officers accompanied the bus that brought the mcmillan family to the bridge over the tracks where the tragedy occurred. it is decorated with wreaths, pictures, flowerses and loving remembrances. we asked her son about being here? i like being here with these things for my mother. it feels good to see this love shown for her. reporter: today jordan mcmillan made a public promise to his mother and in turn metro made a promise to the victims and the riding public. tonight on news 4 at 6:00, we will hear those promises as our coverage of the one-year anniversary of this fatal metro crash continues. live on the new hampshire avenue bridge over the crash ....
