The Indian government has declared Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu Kashmir as an 'Unlawful Association' for a further period of five years under Section 3(1) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) 1967.
India's Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday (Feb 27) extended the ban on Jamaat-e-Islami, Jammu and Kashmir by five years. The extension in ban would come into effect immediately.
