Abby Grundy went 3 for 3 with three triples and three RBIs, and Ashlyn Bailey went 2 for 3 with a pair of RBIs as Herriman blanked Lone Peak for the 6A win in the 6A second round. Alexa Wade dominated on the mound for Herriman by strikng out 10 in the win.
The Lancers put on a hitting clinic as they defeated Cyprus in their 6A second-round series. Layton finished with 22 hits and scored 14 combined runs in the second and third innings. Joslyn Purcell was the winning pitcher in the circle for Layton, but she also displayed strong hitting ability as she recorded five RBIs.
