Mountaineers start week strong, falter at end May 12, 2021BERLIN The Berlin Mountaineer varsity baseball team began a busy three-game week last Monday with a walkoff victory over the Woodsville Engineers at home by a score of 4-3. Unfortunately, that would be the high water mark of the week for Berlin as they would then drop back to back games on Thursday and Friday to Littleton and Laconia. The Mountaineers currently stand with a record of 5-3 and they quickly progress into the second half of the regular season. On Monday, the Mountaineers would be led offensively by Griffin Melanson (3-4, two runs, one RBI) and Tyler Rousseau (2-4, one run, double), while freshman Kolin Melanson would throw six solid innings before giving way to Carter Poulin in the seventh inning. Griffin Melanson would tie the game at one in the bottom of the second inning as he would scamper home on a passed ball.
