Nelson sentenced for role in storage unit thefts Nancy Molnar NEW PHILADELPHIA A 34-year-old woman from the Bolivar area has been ordered to successfully complete a residential corrections program for her role in a string of thefts from storage units. Jamie S. Nelson is to complete the program at Stark Regional Community Correction Center in Louisville under terms of a sentence given Tuesday by Tuscarawas County Common Pleas Judge Elizabeth Lehigh Thomakos. The requirement is a condition of two years probation ordered by Thomakos. The probation is to be served in place of a two-year prison sentence, which the judge reserved for imposition if probation terms are not met. ....
NEW PHILADELPHIA A 34-year-old woman from the Bolivar area has admitted to her role in a string of thefts from storage units. Jamie S. Nelson, entered guilty pleas in four cases on Tuesday before Tuscarawas County Common Pleas Judge Elizabeth Lehigh Thomakos. The judge then found her guilty of theft, receiving stolen property, breaking and entering, and aggravated drug possession. In exchange for her plea, assistant county prosecutor Robert Urban recommended that she receive a two-year prison sentence, to be reserved in favor of completion of a program at a community-based correctional program such as the Stark Regional Community Correction Center in Louisville. The recommendation included two years probation and an order to pay a total of $2,456 in restitution to four victims. ....
