BISMARCK, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Blue Jays improved to 3-1 in WDA play on Thursday night in Bismarck as they split the doubleheader with Century, winning game one 11-1 before dropping the second game of the doubleheader 9-5. Jamestown’s bats woke up in the fourth and fifth innings in game one against the Patriots by scoring eight runs in those two innings to take the lead in game one. Ella Roaldson had a big day at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three runs driven in and a double, and Jenna Fischer went 2-for-4 for the Blue Jays and with two runs brought in. In the circle, Katie Falk pitched a complete game, allowing five hits and one earned run while striking out two. ....

(NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Blue Jays girls basketball team is headed to the Class A state tournament for the first time in seven years, and the Jamestown Basketball Boosters are organizing a send-off for Thursday. Blue Jay Fans…..Let’s line Main Street (Hugo’s to Hardee’s) this Thursday @ 4pm to Cheer on our Lady Blue Jay… The Blue Jays won their final two games of the WDA tournament to qualify for state. Jamestown took down Mandan, 66-53, to take the final spot in the West Region. The four seed in the west Blue Jays will take on the top team from the east, Fargo Davies, at 12 PM on Friday at the Bismarck Event Center. Full game coverage can be heard HERE. ....

JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Blue Jays held a 45-33 lead at the halftime break but were unable to hold off the potent offense of Bismarck in the second half as they fell 79-70 on Thursday night. Carson Lamp returned to form for the Jays, finishing with 17 total points on the evening. Jamestown found a hot streak to end the first half, going on a 26-3 run. However, it was Max Tschosik of Bismarck who heated up in the second half, going on an 8-0 run on his own to help push the Demons ahead. The Blue Jays drop to 16-6 on the season and snap their four-game winning streak. Jamestown will still have a shot at the state tournament as they take on Mandan in a state qualifier on Saturday at 6:15 in the Bismarck Event Center. Both the girls and boys teams will be facing Mandan, with the Blue Jay girls scheduled to play at 11:45. ....
