(KMIZ) The Missouri Veterans Commission released a full version of an investigation done on its response to COVID-19. The report says the commission failed to recognize the changing pandemic and didn t plan or respond to it well. The report gave credit to the quick response to the pandemic at the beginning but criticized leaders for not making adjustments as cases climbed in the fall. The review took a look at the Mexico Veterans home and St. James Veterans home. The Mexico home had two deaths and 37 cases among residents and staff. ....

(KFVS) - The Missouri Veterans Commission announced the launch of its Essential Caregiver Program at its seven Veterans Homes. The program enables Veterans to have direct contact in the homes with a designated family member to help ensure the Veterans’ health and wellbeing are provided for while COVID-19 restrictions are in place.
