H&V News HeatingCast #9: Smarter thinking about UK heat electrification

Heating and Ventilation News Effective electrification of heat will require much more than the expanded adoption of heat pumps with a range of changes needed in building and energy policy An urgent rethink of UK building standards and energy policy is needed to effectively expand electric heating nationally, the latest HeatingCast has heard. H&V News has been joined once again by James Standley, managing director of Kensa Heat Pumps, Tom Robbins of homes controls specialist Switchee and Phil Steele of renewables provider Octopus Energy to discuss plans for expanding the role of electricity in heating homes. A central theme of this latest HeatingCast is the need for drastic amendments within energy policy, as well as the ongoing review of building standards to make it easier and more attractive to electrify heating at a sufficient scale to meet national decarbonisation targets.

Drug kingpin bragged about hiding meth and ecstasy up his anus

Share Within an hour he was boasting that he was not to be deterred by police stating to a customer that he would hide the drugs in an anal cavity, she said.  The court heard he was looking to expand his drug empire to nearby Emerald from Townsville and had also helped a friend escape police custody by cutting off his handcuffs.  On his arrest cops found a tick sheet that showed Standley was owed $19,390 by multiple people and had $33,260 of unexplained funds in his bank account. Prosecutor Monique Sheppard said Standley had dealt an estimated 1kg of drugs.
