The organizers of the St. James Parish Christmas Eve Bonfires are canceling this year s event because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Unified Command Group in St. James Parish confirmed yesterday that they had decided to cancel due to COVID-19 safety concerns and positivity rates above 16%.
Parish President Pete Dufresne is scheduled to hold a Facebook Live discussion today to provide more details on the cancellation, refunds, and tearing down previously built bonfires.
