St Anna's Parish on the Gold Coast raises funds to help fight cancer

There is nothing more special than when a community rallies together to do good in the world.
The Ladies Auxiliary of St Anna Parish-Community organised a morning tea at the Hellenic Function Centre and were joined by 125 enthusiastic people, who gathered to raise money for an ECG machine desperately needed by Gold Coast University Hospital’s oncology department.
The morning tea hosted nurse Debbie Royal who works at the front line in the Oncology Unit along with Shaelene Hancock and Tegan Parker who work with the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation.

Gold Coast students celebrated 200th Greek War of Independence anniversary

The Greek school students of St Anna, Gold Coast, celebrated the 200th anniversary of Greece’s War of Independence this month.
Following the Divine Liturgy, presided by Father Romanos Stergiou, students, relatives and parishioners assembled in the Hellenic Function Centre.
A light brunch was provided by the tireless and hard-working members of the Ladies Auxiliary.
The program commenced with all the students dressed in blue and white, marching into the function centre behind the Greek, Cypriot and Australian flags.
James Nides, President of the Greek Community of St Anna, welcomed all attendees and highlighted the importance of maintaining the Greek heritage acknowledging the parents’ contributions in supporting them embrace their Greek roots. ....
