A LIFE-SAVING ambulance trust is taking steps to reduce its impact on the environment. The Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust (EHAAT), which is partly based in Earls Colne, has announced it is planning further action to fight climate change. The announcement came on the eve of Earth Day 2021 which takes place today. In what EHAAT believes is a first for a UK air ambulance charity, bosses say they have carried out a thorough review of the service’s carbon footprint and sustainability, and are now looking at how they can achieve a net zero impact. The charity says the first step was to work with a consultant to calculate the charity’s carbon footprint for the year 2019-20.
