a jailhouse visit. today a philadelphia judge gives her side. in court filings, she says she refuses to let rapper meek mill out on bail because she fears he s a flight risk, saying he s facing significant jail time. he had a 2017 probation violation. more than ten years ago he was charged in a drug and assault case. the judge says that williams used a dirt bike for drug sales back in 2007 and in 2017 when he popped wheelies on a new york city street, he was again on a dirt bike. she said the artists has failed drug screenings while on probation and says in an unscheduled probation visit to his home, he tested positive for drugs and was in possession of fast flush. it s unclear if he used that to mask his urine since this had been a current theme for his violations while on probation. and defense lawyers followed up saying that the judge should recuse herself saying that there is an fbi filing investigating her handling of this case. reporting live, deanna durante, nbc 10 new
facing charges and that is just the beginning. good evening, i m ukee washington. i m jessica dean. prosecutors announced eight people have been link to the 2012 death of april kaufman. eyewitness news reporter david spun joins us live from the sat center to break down this case, david. reporter: we have been following this story for five years and haunted april s family and radio fans since she was found dead in her linwood atlantic county home in 2012 shot several times. who was behind this mysterious killing. we didn t necessity new until the detectives, made this announce. authorities made that announce this afternoon, slain radio hoe she lived with her husband doctor james kaufman, authorities say, atlantic county, prosecutors and another man named ferdinand were both involved in this murder for hire plot. april kaufman had learned of the many unlawful and unlawful practices that james kaufman was out ating in in his medical practice for. she threatened to use th
her desire to divorce james kaufman, he was intent to rather have her killed as opposed to losing his financial empire. reporter: he was the one who led kaufman to a hit man. in total eight people were arrested today. kaufman was 47. she was a well-loved radio host and advocate for military vets. she was killed may 10th of 2012 suffering multiple gunshot wounds. a worker found kaufman lying on her bedroom floor. the beginning they did not believe the killing was random. he attended the funeral, but in the months ask years since her death, he remarried. the victim s daughter sued her stepfather in federal court aimed at stopping him from collecting on any insurance policies. documented evidence from his home and medical office. it s also important to note that the man who pulled the trigger died a year later in october of 2013 from an apparent drug overdose. i also spoke with dr. james kaufman s attorney by phone a short time ago. he told me in part, quote, i have not read
