In reviewing the nation’s nuclear deterrent posture, President Joe Biden’s national security team will closely scrutinize the Air Force’s Long-Range Standoff Weapon (LRSO) program, which is a modernized nuclear-armed, air-launched cruise missile. Critics contend that the weapon may be destabilizing, but delaying or canceling the program would be a huge mistake.
The LRSO along with gravity bombs form the “air leg” of the nuclear triad. Each leg of the triad delivers unique and complementary capabilities that together have served to prevent nuclear war for the last seventy-five years. Since our adversaries’ nuclear arsenals pose an existential threat to the United States, it is critical to ensure all elements of the triad remain viable in the future. ....

The supplier of drugs to a Gloucester based drugs gang has been sentenced to eight years and four months in prison.
It follows an investigation by the Constabulary s Serious and Organised Crime Unit (SOCU).
Eris Hoti, 33 and of Carlton Drive in London was sentenced at Bristol Crown Court yesterday (Wednesday 13 January) for his involvement in supplying drugs to Gloucester man Andrew Venna, who was sentenced alongside 10 other men in 2019.
Hoti, who is originally from Albania but was living in London at the time, was arrested at Luton Airport on 18 August 2020 as he was leaving to return to Albania. ....

WASHINGTON: The Air Force is pushing out a rash of new initiatives to harvest cutting-edge commercial tech, including an effort to kick open new markets for next-generation space systems.
The ‘Space Prime’ effort is being modeled on the service’s high-profile Agility Prime project to ‘prime the pump’ for commercial use of ‘flying cars’ electronic vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicles as a way for the military to then leverage both the technology and cost savings. Space was chosen as the next investment arena for the Prime program during last week’s Accelerate virtual event sponsored by the Air Force innovation hub AFWERX. ....
