The fire at Jamaica Ash started late Wednesday night, and it took until Thursday morning for officials to deem it under control, but remained at the scene dealing with hot spots. The fire erupted at the Jamaica Ash and Rubbish Removal in Westbury shortly before 9 p.m. More than 200 firefighters responded and were trying to get the fire under control early Thursday morning.
