Prosecutors say a Utica trio was behind several shootings in the city as a mother sought revenge for the death of her son. In late December, police arrested two 20-year-old Utica residents, Jalil D. Pacheco and Isaiah A. Moore, in the death of Quaheim Holland. Holland, also a 20-year-old Utica resident, was found dead from a gunshot wound last January behind a barn in Whitestown, officials reported. Oneida County District Attorney Scott McNamara said investigators believe he was killed during a robbery and brought with his vehicle from Utica to the snow-covered field along Westmoreland Road. Two nonfatal shootings occurred within days after his death, including at a vigil in Utica in honor of Holland. ....

Jalil D. Pacheco and Isaiah A. Moore, both 20, of Utica, were indicted on the charges, which stem back to a Jan. 8 homicide in the town of Whitestown, said Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol. He notified the community of the arrests in a Facebook live announcement today. The suspects were identified after a year-long investigation into the murder of 20-year-old Quaheem Holland, who was found dead in an abandoned motor vehicle on Westmoreland Road in Whitestown. Utica police, the Oneida County District Attorney’s office and the New York State Police assisted in the investigation. ....
