Patna, May 28 : As many as 17 persons from a village in Raghopur Assembly constituency in Bihar s Vaishali district died of Covid-19 infection in a single month, according to Juhi Parveen, the head of Chak Sikandar village panchayat.
Juhi Parveen released a list of the victims on Friday and said neither the district health department nor RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav took cognisance of severe Covid-19 infection in Mansukhpur village which falls under the Chak Sikandar village panchayat.
The deaths occurred between April 12 to May 12 due to severe Covid-19 infection in the village.

The five-year tenure of the Anti-Corruption Commission is about to end and a new one is to take charge this month but the fate of the probes into 56 cases filed in connection with the BASIC Bank loan scam remains uncertain.
Whenever asked about progress in the last five years, the ACC sounded like a scratched record. It always said it had failed to find the Tk 4,500 crore siphoned off from the bank between 2009 and 2013.
Dissatisfied with the ACC s delays, the High Court in 2018 even raised the question of whether the investigation officers was in connivance with the accused .

The High Court yesterday observed that some mistakes by the Anti Corruption Commission has made the entire institution questionable.
The ACC has done many good things, but made a couple of mistakes like conducting a flawed investigation or prosecuting the wrong person, the HC said.
The bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman made the observation while hearing a writ petition filed by a man seeking redress after he was wrongly prosecuted by the ACC.
The ACC s conduct is expected to be fair, the HC bench said.
