The six-point favorite Georgetown Hoyas (4-5, Big East) fell 74-71 in overtime to the South Carolina Gamecocks (4-4, SEC). Once again, the Hoyas’ inability to defend the three led to their downfall. South Carolina shot 10 of 31 from behind the arc, as compared to Georgetown’s 3 of 18.

The Georgetown Hoyas are still on pause due to a player or coach apparently having COVID-19. We certainly wish everyone health and safety, but it’s tough to watch other basketball without Georgetown participating.

Possibly jeopardizing the health of young people is always a delicate subject, but there’s little doubt that these student-athletes would prefer to be competing. We want safe Georgetown and BIG EAST basketball.
