Story that youll see first on fox5, a man attacked on a metro platform its sharing his story. Thanks for joining us, im lauren demarco. Hi, everybody im jim lokay. The attack happened on the park place friday night. It all happened right here friday at about 6 00 inside the gallery place metro station and this victim says he was not a victim of a robbery. Nothing was taken from his person, but he was a victim of a vicious assault and this is what he looked like once he left the station. His jaw swollen, his s will likely require surgery after a pack of young men beat him to the ground. He says had it not been for the train that was at the platform he likely would have fallen on to the tracks and had it not been for a George Washington University Student things likely would have been far worse. Here on i395. Road work still going on after major water main break. New 4 at 11 begins with breaking news. First up tonight that breaking news here in the district, a child struck and killed in a crash. It started out as a hitandrun. Megan fitzgerald on the scene. Reporter it has been about 2 1 2 hours since this accident happened. A very active scene. Police have taped off the area where the crash happened. They tell us around 8 30 when the driver collided with the 6yearold boy who was rushed to the hospital. Investigators are telling us that that child has died. We are told that the driver then drove to a different location where he called 911. At this point we are told that the driver is cooperating with the investigation and is being there is a lot we still dont know at this point which is why investigators are out here. The Crime Scene Division is trying to understand exactly the circumstances around this incident, if the little boy went into the street or if the driver veered of
