Survivor of crash that killed two teens speaks out during candlelit vigil

COVENTRY, Conn. Two teens killed in a motor vehicle accident this past Monday are being remembered by friends and family in a candlelit vigil. We ll all make it, we are here, we ll all make it,” said one speaker from Olivia Cyr’s family.
Those encouraging words echoed by many in attendance as people gathered at the Corner Store of Coventry on South Street to remember 19-year-old Jacob Provost and 16-year-old Olivia Cyr.
Two teens have died after a crash on Route 44 in Coventry on Monday morning.
“I got ejected out the back windshield probably about 20 feet out into the middle of 44. I got up, and I walked over to the car to see if I could hear anyone talking or trying to get out. And I didn’t hear anything. So there was a cop coming down the road, so I flagged him down. And he made sure medical attention arrived on the scene,” said Smith. “Jacob was my best friend. I ve known him for five years. And I ve known Olivia for three or four years, and she was a good friend.”
The mother of a teenage girl who died in a double fatal car crash Monday said she was happy for the young back seat passenger who survived and his loved ones.

COVENTRY, Conn. Members of the Coventry community are mourning the loss of two teenagers killed in a crash along Rt. 44 early Monday morning.
Police say the driver, 19-year-old Jacob Provost was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger, 16-year-old Olivia Cyr was taken to the hospital by LifeStar, but later died. A third passenger, an 18-year-old, suffered minor injuries and has been released from the hospital.
Both victims are remembered by friends and family as people who made everyone smile and laugh. A memorial has been created by loved ones at the site of the crash.
