Canadian Mirela Rahneva narrowly missed the podium for the second straight week at the Altenberg track. The Ottawa native finished fourth in the women's skeleton event on Friday at the German course, just missing out on a third place finish in back-to-back events after also taking fourth place last Friday.
Mirela Rahneva slid to a skeleton World Cup silver medal on Friday in Winterberg, Germany. The Calgary resident and two-time Olympian also captured gold at a World Cup stop in Park City, Utah, earlier this season.
