Jac Lewis Foundation wellbeing centre in Ammanford set to bridge mental health support gap

THE OPENING of the Jac Lewis Foundation wellbeing centre marks a new start for mental health services in Ammanford, says its appointed counsellor.
The foundation was set up by officials at Ammanford AFC in December 2019 following the death of one of its players, 27-year-old Jac Lewis, in February of that year.
The ground-breaking wellbeing centre is based in the recreation ground in Ammanford and provides free of charge services including telephone support, one-to-one counselling, well-being workshops, coffee mornings, training courses along with mentor training for the community and a place for people to meet, engage and not be alone.
In the last 12 months the charity has helped hundreds of people of all ages work through mental health challenges through its services. ....
