The Harju County Court ruled on Friday that Tallinn Emergency Response (Tallinna Kiirabi) did not have the right to terminate the employment of 14 employees who refused to be vaccinated for COVID-19 and ordered it to pay the employees compensation, the law firm representing the plaintiffs said.
A court on Wednesday found that two Police and Border Guard Board (PPA) employees were illegally dismissed after declining to get fully vaccinated against Covid.
Sections of the main legislation as amended in response to the coronavirus pandemic are unconstitutional, a court ruled Tuesday, news portal Delfi reports. The same court also found in favor of close to 60 people who had filed complaints against the government over two government orders put in place in 2021, and which imposed restrictions relating to the pandemic.
On Monday, January 31 the first-tier Tallinn Administrative Court granted applicants' applications for interim relief and prohibited the Police and Border Guard Board (PPA) from terminating their employment on the grounds of failing to produce a Covid certificate, until the judgment in the main proceedings had entered into force.
