(WTVF) â Metro Nashville Police officers arrested and charged a 16-year-old with criminal homicide in a deadly, New Year s Eve shooting. Police say Iâyendaye Byrd shot and killed 39-year-old Demarius Scales at the 100 block of Charles Court in Nashville. Byrd was involved in an argument with a girl that turned physical when Scales came out to intervene. Byrd and Scales then began arguing, during which Byrd pulled a gun.
