Fairfield FFA member Jacob Britt was awarded the National FFA Organization's highest honor, the prestigious American FFA Degree, during the 95th National FFA Convention on October 29, 2022, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Less than one percent of the 850,823 FFA members in the country ever earns this distinction. Recipients of the honor are reserved for those students who have earned at least $10,000 and productively invested $7500 through Supervised Agricultural Experience Programs (SAEs), met all requirements of a twenty-page degree application, and completed an interview with a state recommendation committee. Jacob is currently majoring in accounting at University of Southern Indiana and he is the 15th Fairfield FFA member to receive the FFA degree. Willadean "Deana" Richardson, 76, a resident of Wayne City, IL passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, IN. Willadean was born on January 10, 1945 in Ottumwa, IA to her parents William and Eva Freshour. On May 8th, 1966 she married Phillip Ray Richarson who preceded her in death in 1990. Deana was worked as an In-Home Caregiver for many years. She enjoyed travelling, going to riverboats & casinos, playing bingo, camping, going to see Stumpy Joe Sweckard play music, and spending time with her family. She was of the Catholic faith. Deana is survived by a sister Vera McCabe of Iowa, 3 sons: Brian Richardson of Minier, IL; Jack Richardson of Mackinaw, IL; and Corby Richardson of Wayne City, IL; 10 grandkids, 12 great grandkids, 1 great grandchild, and several nieces & nephews.
