Burglary suspect trying to make a getaway. That 11 year veteran is being treated at the hospital. I am in for ken this afternoon, the driver not only struck the officer those plainclothes officers were from the northern station and they were on their bikes at alamos square on the lookout for car breakins. He was caught after crashing about 5 blocks away. Reporter we are still trying to figure out what happened on the street behind me but the injuries are non lifethreatening. It began around noon along alamo square, a suspected car burglar smashed the windows of a toyota and installed some luggage. The car was a rental belonging to some visitors from florida. My husband called me and said he saw someone smashed the windows and also he saw a policeman get hit. Reporter a undercover policeman on a bicycle working on a burglary operation saw what happened and attempted to stop the suspect after smashing the window.
