Taxpayers may claim any excess payment of tax by submitting an income tax return (ITR) to the Income Tax (I-T) Department. Those who submitted income tax returns (ITRs) for FY 202122 have now either received or are expecting their ITR refunds since the deadline for ITRs for AY 202223 has passed.
ITR filing: Those who wish to send the ITR-V in a hard copy can send it through the usual address through speed post only to Centralised Processing Centre, Income Tax Department, Bengaluru-560500, Karnataka.
ITR filing deadline: Taking the 63.47 lakh returns filed on the last day, the total number of ITRs for the 2021-22 fiscal filed till 10 pm went past 5.73 crore.
