Spanish Artist Uses Half-Ton of Chocolate to Reproduce Massive Picasso Painting

More than 1,100 pounds of chocolate was used to recreate the famous artwork, which shows the suffering of people and animals during the bombing of the Basque town of Guernica on April 26, 1937, during the Spanish Civil War.
The confection s unveiling marked the 85th anniversary of Operation Rugen, the bombing by Francisco Franco s rebel Nationalist faction, aided by the Nazi Luftwaffe s Condor Legion and the Italian Aviazione Legionaria.
A massive chocolate replica of the Picasso painting of “Guernica” was exhibited in April in Guernica, Spain. ....
