The two countries are planning to push high-level agricultural technology cooperation between Israeli institutions and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
Israel has become a superpower in agriculture and water management, cyber security and software development and is globally regarded as a centre of excellence in innovation. Africa is tapping into its expertise, but much more cooperation is possible.
GUWAHATI: The Embassy of Israel in India on Friday appointed Assam’s prominent HR consultancy expert Joyshree Das Verma as honorary consul in the northeastern region.
The embassy in a statement said, “To further increase its presence and collaborations in India’s North-East, the Embassy of Israel in India has appointed Mrs Joyshree Das Verma as honorary consul in the region, to be based in Assam with jurisdiction over the states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Tripura and Sikkim.”
Announcing the appointment, ambassador of Israel in India, HE Dr Ron Malka, said, “The relations between the two countries are expanding rapidly. We are now going to take it forward and increase our presence in the northeast. I am proud to present the credentials of Israeli honorary consul to Mrs Joyshree Das Verma, who will work with us to further strengthen our growing partnership in this region.”
