To our distinguished graduates, relatives, friends and well-wishers here and those watching via live stream from around the world, and the members of the college faculty, staff, alumni, and administration, welcome to the 167th commencement exercises of Rhode Island College. 
Let me be among the first to say “Congratulations to the graduating class of 2021!!!”  While this evening’s Commencement Walk will not have all the Pomp and Circumstance that we are so accustom to during this time of year, our graduates, without question, deserve this moment. They deserve to cross the stage and celebrate, in-person, for this extraordinary collegiate milestone. ....
