Health workers announced there were 64 new COVID-19 cases among Shasta County residents over the weekend: 50 confirmed positive on Friday and 14 on Saturday. Those cases pushed the total case number to 11,463 since the pandemic began in March 2020, according to a public health report issued Monday. Health workers also reported six coronavirus patients were in Shasta County hospitals because of the virus, two of whom are in intensive care units.
